Serena's Wedding Day

Tuxedo, and a starched white shirt.
Even tied my bow tie, without getting hurt.
Oh, I'm on time, my shoes are shined,
I try to shake my fear,
But I can't believe this day is really here.

I take another glance at the clock. 11:37 A.M. Not even a minute since the last time I looked. Another glance in the mirror proves that everything is in order, my tie is strait, shoes are shined -- everything is perfect. The tuxedo is identical to that of every other guy in the room, only the chrysanthemums in our lapels are different. Setsuna has good taste, even if the shirt is a little stiff. 11:38. Just seven minutes until we leave for the church. I can't believe this day is really here.

I've got directions, but I feel lost,
Now I've come to,
I've come to a bridge I haven't crossed...

Slowly, ever so slowly the time passes, and finally, we are leaving for the church. The drive seems to take forever, but in less than five minutes we arrive, and my companions and I walk down to the front of the church. The girls did a wonderful job decorating. It's like a re-creation of heaven. The white, pink and blue sheer fabric covering the light grey stone walls and flowing between the white marble pillars gives the church an angelic appearance. The stain glass windows donated years ago when the church was built glow a thousand different hues of pink, orange, red, blue, yellow, and every other color of the rainbow as the light shines through them giving a mistifying look to the already gorgous church. The minister reminds us where to stand, just like we did in the rehearsals. A foreboding feeling of lost fills me as I stand here. I can't believe this day is really here.

I see our friends, the march begins,
And there she is at last...

@--->---->----- -----<----<---@ @--->---->----- -----<----<---@

Our friends come up to the mahogany alter with congratulations and the chapel is filled with the delightful chatter of our friends and loved ones. The priest nods to the organist, the music begins as everyone takes their seats. Slowly, little Reeny and Heather make their way up the aisle, dropping red, pink, and white rose petals as they go. Following behind the two little visions in pink and purple are the girls, Serena's closed friends and confidants. Finally, once all the girls are up at the front standing by the altar, the reason my heart beats enters. I can't believe this day is really here.

The gown she is wearing couldn't have been a better choice. She is breath takingly stunning in it. The white dress radiates glory to all that behold her. The veil that covers her beautiful face seems to mock me, not allowing me to witness my love in all her gorgeous splendor. This day is really here.

@--->---->----- -----<----<---@ @--->---->----- -----<----<---@

She'll walk down the isle,
And I'll see her smile,
And I'll promise her, forever to be true,
I'll give my heart away...

@--->---->----- -----<----<---@ @--->---->----- -----<----<---@

Slowly, agonizingly so, she makes her way towards the altar and the beginning of a new life on her father's arm. She is here at last. She smiles at me, and I greatfully return the favor. Her father grudgingly releases her arm, lifts her veil, giving my a brief look at her perfect face as he gives her a quick kiss on the cheek, and replaces the veil, fussing with one edge a bit. Slowly, she turns from him, and into the arms of destiny she goes, her new husband. My heart breaks as she walks past.

@--->---->----- -----<----<---@ @--->---->----- -----<----<---@

And my heart breaks the moment she walks past.

@--->---->----- -----<----<---@ @--->---->----- -----<----<---@

End.

Lesley's Wedding Day
by Joel Feeney

Tuxedo, and a starched white shirt.
Even tied my bow tie, without getting hurt.
Oh, I'm on time, my shoes are shined,
I try to shake my fear,
But I can't believe this day is really here.
'Cause

She'll walk down the isle,
And I'll see her smile,
And I'll hear her say 'I do,'
And I know I will too,
And I'll promise her, forever to be true,
I'll give my heart away, on Lesley's Wedding Day.

I've got directions, but I feel lost,
Now I've come to,
I've come to a bridge I haven't crossed,
I see our friends, the march begins,
And there she is at last,
And my heart breaks the moment she walks past.

And she walks down the isle,
And I see her smile,
And I hear her say 'I do,'
And I know I do too,
And I promise her, forever to be true,
I give my heart away, on Lesley's Wedding Day.

I won't scream out 'Lesley don't do it!
I still love' (still love you),
But I know I can't say that,
Because today I know we're through,
And now I know we're through.

And she walked down the isle,
And I saw her smile,
And I heard her say 'I do,'
And I wispered 'I do, too,'
And I promised her, forever to be true,
I gave my heart away, oh, I gave my heart away,
On Lesley's Wedding Day.
